My Drunk Kitchen does a vegan episode! They make vegan cheesecake, drunkenly, and learn that vegans can be fatties, too. I laughed a lot. Probably too much, because some of it hit very close to home. Tonight: It’s just whiskey and walnuts, baby.
It’s not a choice! I was born that way!
Q:I don't know if you still want these random asks, but here's one anyway :P What's your favourite vegan meal to make?
Absolutely! Thank you for asking :)
My go-to meal to make is a DIY Satay, similar to this one, but usually a lot more haphazard. Whatever there is in the veggie drawer in the fridge gets thrown in, with some “cook in wok” noodles right at the end. It’s not special, but it’s so easy and really tasty. A perfect lazy meal.
How to peel a head of garlic in less than 10 seconds, with SAVEUR magazine’s Executive Food Editor, Todd Coleman.
Utterly brilliant. I didn’t know this was even possible, although according to some comments, different varieties of garlic are harder to peel than others and it won’t work with some using this technique.
A much quieter way to peel garlic, and one I swear by, is to use a silicon peeler like this:

Just pop a clove inside and rub the tube vigorously between your hands. Voilà.
Vegan key lime pie with a chocolate middle, because I’m a loose cannon.
The secret is cornflour. And good chocolate. And love. Some other ingredients too.
Vegan rhubarb tart. Super simple - pastry, sugar, rhubarb, almonds (ground underneath, toasted on top).
I think it’s a tart. Is it a tart? I’m not quite sure of the difference.
I made pizza!
Base: Flour, yeast, warm water, olive oil.
Toppings: Concentrated tomato paste, nutritional yeast, chopped garlic, chilli flakes, pepper, salt, courgette, oyster mushrooms, cherry tomatoes.
Yes, it was delicious. The base was super-thin and crunchy. Enjoyment was had.
Vegan Pumpkin Pie
I made a pumpkin pie. Until this one, I’d never tasted pumpkin pie so had no frame of reference other than a recipe I found and a photo from Google. It was DELICIOUS.
Bakin’ Bread
The 30–Day Tumblr Challenge Day 20: A hobby of yours I recently took an interest in cooking, and this is my first foray into bread. It’s not pretty, but tastes delicious. Two improvements for the future: 1) slightly less salt and 2) a lower oven temperature for a bit longer. And the proof, with tasty, tasty Nutella.
Lokshen pudding
Vermicelli (spaghetti in this case), margarine, two eggs, sugar, cinnamon, mixed peel, sultanas, forty minutes in the oven.
